SCOTSMAN.COM has become the first newspaper website in the UK to offer a video podcast or “vodcast”.
The three-minute video can be downloaded on to an iPod or viewed conventionally using a media player on the website from the Heritage & Culture section.
It investigates mysterious stories surrounding Edinburgh’s closes and is presented by the scotsman.com journalist Diane Maclean.
This vodcast continues the website’s tradition for innovation and producing excellence in online journalism.

The Victoria and Albert (V&A) has become the first UK museum to offer video podcasts, extending its existing online audio offering with content culled from a recent film competition.
The video podcast has the goal of widening exposure for the museum.
The podcast features a collection of short films from the museum’s Every Object Tells A Story contest. The contest invited users of its Web site to submit short films around the theme of ‘things people value’. (more…)

Tiny Tube is a vlog-style video podcast that’s hard to describe, but manages to reliably be fun, quirky and original.
Ben Dragu and Joan St. Simone are the hosts of Tiny Tube. They describe it as “the new news, something weird and beautiful”, but you’ll have to check it out to get a real idea of what it’s about.

Apple today unveiled the new Mac mini with the Intel Core Duo processor, delivering performance up to four times faster than its predecessor, according to Apple, and providing greater expansion in the same compact design.
The new Mac minis feature the Apple Remote and Front Row so users can play music, enjoy photo slideshows, watch DVDs, iMovies, music videos, video podcasts and television shows from across the room.
“The new Mac mini is now up to four times faster with the Intel Core Duo, includes even greater expansion in the same incredibly compact design, and is the most affordable way to enjoy Front Row and iLife ‘06,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing.
